Another wildflower walk

Since it has been raining all week this is the first opportunity we’ve had to be outside at all! So, we went on a nature walk! We found lots of pretty wildflowers, but also found a few other things too! I have tried to look for the names of these wildflowers to identify them, but it is still hard for me to always tell what it is! Glorious Flight Fun!

This week we are rowing Glorious Flight. A loooooong time ago I found these styrofoam planes at Big Lots and bought them for when we row this book. They have been in the bag in my room for many months. We finally got to use them! Daddy helped the kids put these together and we went into the backyard to watch the planes fly through the air. Some Squirrely fun!

Nature Study· Unit Studies

Today we had all kinds of squirrely fun! First of all, we took the idea from MacBeth’s Grey Squirrel Project and had an acorn hunt in the backyard. I printed off a bunch of acorns, because we didn’t have any real ones. We also wrote the kids initals on the acorns. We gave each little “squirrel” a pile of acorns and told them to pretend they were squirrels and were going to quickly hide all their acorns to save them up for winter.
