In times of suffering, we must look up. Turn your eyes upon Jesus. He is our only hope.
And because He is alive, our HOPE IS ALIVE.
We are never without hope, friends, because we have Jesus.
If you keep your eyes on the problem, that is all you will see. Instead, look up. Look to Jesus, who for the JOY set before Him endured the cross.
Here are some verses to pray and meditate over during times of suffering:
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. [Matthew 5:4]
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. [Psalm 119:50]
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world! [John 16:33]
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. [Psalm 27:13-14]
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow — not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. [Romans 8:37-38]
There is wonderful joy ahead, even through you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies god — though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong thorough many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. [1 Peter 1:6-7]
I will never leave you or forsake you. [Hebrews 13:5]
