When I found out that I was going to get to review Five in a Row for the TOS crew, I was SO excited! We have been a Five-in-a-Row (FIAR) family since the beginning of our homeschooling "career." I feel truly blessed that I found FIAR when I did...my oldest was only 3 years old, I didn't have many ideas formed yet about HOW I wanted to school my children. All I knew was that I was 1)going to homeschool, 2)loved children's books. My love for great children's books found its home in Five-in-a-Row. ... Read More about Five in a Row
Litany of Humility
I came across this prayer and knew it was *for me!* So many things that I struggle with are listed in this prayer! I am not familiar or comfortable with praying "written prayers." Alot of the resources I have found are from more liturgical settings: Catholic, Lutheran, etc. However, as I read through some of the prayers and scriptures I find that alot of it is non-denominational and very fitting for this season we are moving into. Lent is a 40-day season that ... Read More about Lent…and taking a break
Albert & Bird study!
Our unit study for the coming week is going to be FOR THE BIRDS! We are going to be doing a unit from Five in a Row, a book titled Albert, which is in FIAR vol. 4. Along with this book, we will be doing a bird-nature study! I hope to spend 2 weeks on this study. We have studied birds before, but I never grow tired of these wonderful creatures, especially with our wonderful feeders right at our back window! Along with the book Albert, and the lessons from the FIAR manual, I wanted to ... Read More about Albert & Bird study!
