This week, while learning about bats, we have done 2 cute crafts. The first idea I took from No Time for Flashcards, a bat made out of the kids handprints. We didn’t glue ours onto orange paper, but instead we are going to put these on the front of our lapbooks for the week! Finishing up our Pirate unit
Today was the final day of our pirate unit and we did it up right! First, we had a treasure hunt down at Aunt Valerie’s house. We came in our finest pirate gear ~ eyepatches, hooks, swords, head scarves, jeweled necklaces… We followed an ancient map that led us through deep sea waters, fire, and up tall mountains. Stellaluna & Bat unit study

Our Treasure Maps
Today the kids helped me on a fun craft…making a treasure map! As we were working on this project together Hannah announced that this was the best craft she had ever done! LOL! We followed the directions from the HSS Pirate lapbook/unit to make this map and it worked very well! First we crumpled up the paper to get it all wrinkled. Then, we tore off the edges of our papers.
